Sound of Music

We just got back from Salzburg, Austria and had an awesome time seeing the sights. It is mainly know as Mozart's birthplace but it is also where the Von Trapps lived and where they shot some of the movie. I loved the movie growing up so I was so excited to go on the Sound of Music tour and see some of the areas where they shot the film. The tour was a little cheesy playing the songs on the bus but I loved it!! Another post coming soon from the rest of our trip but blogger is being slow with pictures!

Here is Chase in the Mirabell Gardens. They ran through this while singing do-re-mi.
The Gazebo!

Our wonderful tour guide and Chase. Everyone loved him and he did really well.

The place where they shot the back yard scenes.

The church where Capt and Maria got married.

Back to the Mirabell Gardens. This is where they end the Do-Re-Mi song.

Another view of house that was used for the back gardens.

Cricket

Today was a beautiful day and what better way to spend it then at the cricket pitch and playing around with my new camera! Hopefully you will notice a difference in the quality of pictures!

Chase has been pretty much keeping his finger in his mouth all the time. He has 2 top teeth in and 2 more on the way!
Brad walking out to begin batting!

Chase with his model pouty face!

Walking back after batting for tea time (not kidding!). Notice in Tom's hand (on the right of Brad) a Mountain Dew. I'm thinking that might be the only reason they want him to play!

I think it might be time for a trim around the ears!

The Lake District

We just got back from a wonderful week at the Lake District with our friends the Strohmeyers. We arrived on Monday night and wanted to take it easy for the first night so we hit the pool. The last time at the pool (Paris before Christmas) Chase wasn't too interested but this time he loved it! The first day the weather wasn't the best so we did the boat/train/aquarium package.

Using the double stoller!

The weather wasn't much better the second day but we had to try a hike. We wanted to go further but we figured the cloud line was good enough!

We hit the Adventure Playground and I think the big boys had more fun than the little boys!

The third day we had a beautiful afternoon so we took a hike to some waterfalls! The scenery was beautiful!

On our way home we stopped by York and loved it! We found a mexican restaurant we had to go to. There are not too many here. They had free kids meals so Chase got his very own meal! The boys don't understand to look at the camera when using the self timer!
Then when we thought we were finally headed home we saw the sign for Cawood village and had to stop!

We heard from Brad's grandma that there was a Cawood (apparently the family added a 'y' to the name when they came to the US) Castle and we almost missed it driving by!

Thanks Strohmeyers for hanging out with us this week - it was fun seeing William and Chase interact more, switching off date nights, game night and fellowship!

10 Months

So with everything going on I haven't had a chance to post about Chase turning 10 months. Which is kinda sad because at this point Brad has been gone exactly half his life. We are all adjusting to da-da being home. I am not quite ready to say that da-da is Chase's first word but he says it a lot. I still don't think he's put it together with Brad. He is so close to crawling! From a sitting position he will get on all fours and go a little ways but once he falls to his stomach he has a hard time getting up. He loves food! He does great at mealtime and gets so excited when he has food coming at him. There hasn't been anything that he doesn't like!

Who says that dressing little boys can't be fun! The black t-shirt says "I still live with my parents" (thanks Grandma and Grandpa) and I love the little black Chuck Taylors.

The Homecoming!

I can't put into words how wonderful our day was yesterday so hopefully these pictures will give you an idea! We are so happy to have our whole family together!
