Checking out our future home!

Part of the trip out east was for mom and dad to check out our new home. They did a few errands to get ready for the move and mom turned in a couple resumes. They stayed with good friends who used to live across the street from us here. They are headed over to England in a month and we hope to follow in a year. The best part was seeing William! He is 6 months and so cute. He was always smiling and laughing and lets anyone hold him. This is the baby mom threw a baby shower for in August before they moved away. Dinner time!

Darlington

Yep, mom and dad were this close to the race this past weekend. They had ruled out going because it was on Saturday night - the same time as the wedding. Well it got postponed to Sunday and it was hard to drive right past it - but we wanted to get up to North Carolina to see some friends. Dad especially was excited since Bowyer won the pole. He got his 07 visor in the mail when they got back, what is happening to him.....

More Wedding Fun!

Mom and Dad headed down to South Carolina for a buddy from pilot's training wedding. They got to stay in log cabin trailers right on the lake. They arrived and five minutes later were on the lake tubing and jet skiing! The weather was perfect. Here are mom and dad on the tube with the groom in the back.

Hanging out on the back deck.

Built a fire at night. The groom said at the rehearsal dinner that he thinks that all his friends should be friends just because and that became true - we hung out with everyone like we knew them. It was fun! We also experienced southern hospitality. There was a huge food basket in our cabin and they always made sure we had plenty to eat and were driving us all over the lake. The bride's family were incredible hosts! Dad was a groomsman and also in the saber guard. The bride is in the Army so it is half Army half Air Force. Small world story - one the of bride's sisters is married to a K-stater (who is in the Army) who graduated one year after mom. They knew a lot of mutual friends so it was fun to chat.
I guess when the groom's brother got married 5 years ago he did a number to the car (even took all tires off when they were on their honeymoon and hid them at different peoples houses). So to get even they did silly string, wrapped the car in saran wrap and the worst of it all put 148 live crickets in the car! The bride was a better sport than I would have been! Now they are off in Costa Rica! Thanks so much for thinking of others on your wedding weekend. They were the most selfless bride and groom!

Adventure Race III

Last Saturday was the adventure race that mom did with a couple of friends. She didn't really know what to expect and it was definitely hard but fun too! We were team Perseverance II and it was all friends from church and bible study. 4 people had to be doing the race at one time so we switched off at different check points. Here we are - all smiles now (mom is second from the right)!Getting ready to start!

Waiting at the first check point to switch off on the bike. We did the more "mountain biking" part of it but it wasn't too bad. There was one creek crossing where you had to get off your bike and walk through because it was too slippery.

The teams had to carry sandbags up and down the hill. Mom got lucky to only have to carry it downhill!
The rafting by far was the hardest. We never got our rhythm down and it made for a long 1.25 miles. I was so happy to trade out and let the other girls row the other part!
Carry our raft to the finish line! Tara (in the red) was supposed to be on our team but she broke her wrist snowboarding a little while back. She was the team driver and a huge support. We are so glad she came out and still participated with us.

We finished (40th of out 60 teams but we still finished and had fun!)

Tiana is here!

Baby Tiana Janelle arrived Monday, April 30, 2007 at 7:21pm. She weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. I know it was a long day for the mom and dad but they are home now recovering. We can't wait to see her!

I think this picture is too funny! Kevin's expression is a perfect first time dad look!

Getting ready to head home!

Girls Weekend in SA

So this was last month but when you rely on pictures from friends you just post when you can! Anyways, Mom and her bible study had a girls weekend before everyone moved away to hang out, shop and fellowship. Many of us girls have been good friends for almost 4 years and the time is coming for most of us to move on. It is weird to think I might never see some of them again or we might be stationed with them again - we don't know.
During our bible study we studied Rahab and her testimony. We thought it would be neat to all share our testimonies so we did that on Friday night. It's amazing to see all the different backgrounds and how the Lord all brought us together!

Definitely enjoyed shopping - we don't get to do that much in a small border town!
