Duathlon Take 2

So after mom's last duathlon she was motivated to try another one so she called up her good friend Laurie and they met to run a duathlon (3 mile run, 10 mile bike, 3 mile run). It was a week and a half ago - sorry for the delay in posting. The girls had a lot of fun catching up and the guys being in the same profession had enough to talk about. The best part was meeting their little girl, Gracie!

This duathlon was a lot harder than the other one. Mom's time was 1 hour 41 minutes. That is a long workout! We didn't feel guilty eating Cracker Barrel later that day!

The guys were such good sports but with watching the kiddos (Gracie and Wagner) and taking pictures they were ready for some food! We left soon after the race but Laurie ended up winning for our age group so we should have stayed for the awards ceremony!

Race in Richmond

So we were only here two days before we headed off to Richmand to watch the Nascar race with mom's friends. We stayed and loved our visit with mom's aunt and uncle who live in Richmond. They fed us well and made sure we had everything we needed for the race, thanks!
We really just got into Nascar this year as dad found a driver that he has been following - Clint Bowyer. So this was our first race. It was a lot of fun - very different than any other sporting event though. We sat across from the entrance to pit row so that was cool.

Mom and dad rented fanview so they were able to listen to the drivers scanners and watch replays, that made it a little easier to follow.

Thanks so much to mom's good friend for inviting us!

Dad finally got a picture of the 07 car going by. Bowyer finished 12th this race but made the chase and got his first win the following week at New Hampshire. We didn't have cable at our house yet so after listening to the race on the radio for a while they headed to Outback to watch the final 70 laps.

Moving!

We had a blast on our trip out east. Mom's dad flew out and drove with us so mom wouldn't have to drive! When we first left we hustled to Auburn, AL for the K-State/Auburn game - it was a great game until the last few minutes when Auburn scored twice. We thought it was an "OK" loss until Auburn has lost their last two games.

We then headed to Atlanta to take in the sights there. We went to Stone Mountain and did a hike around the bottom that dogs were allowed on.

I wanted to climb on the rocks so mom let me but then I kinda got stuck so dad had to come rescue me! I was pretty tired after that so I tried to rest on the rocks but I had to keep going.

The next morning, I had to stay in the hotel while they went to downtown Atlanta and the World of Coca Cola. This sign is funny, back then a 16oz bottle served 3, now you get a 20oz for one person and go through it easily!

You got to taste over 73 products from around the world! That was the favorite part!

Dowtown Atlanta

We got back on the road and then headed to Tennessee to the Smoky Hills National Park.

After a day of hiking (I had to stay in the hotel again) we dropped mom's dad off at the airport and then headed to our new home! I have been kinda confused lately because everytime I think we get somewhere for good we leave again (we have already taken two trips since we got here - pictures to come). I think we are finally getting settled though. Maybe I can stop following my parents all over the house - I was just so worried they were going to leave me again. We enjoyed our trip out here very much but also like being home.

We made it!

We did arrive here on the east coast last week. We are still without internet so it is hard to post. We have been here less than a week and we already made a trip to Richmond to visit Mom's aunt and uncle and go to a Nascar race with moms friends from Maryland. We should be getting our house this week and are looking forward to getting settled in and have internet in our home!

Packed up

It has been hard to post lately being without a computer and then getting on the road. We will have tons of pictures once we get settled but until then here are a few from the move (actually only 2 - the computer at the hotel is really slow!)
Here is the moving truck. I wasn't sure what was going on but I know I didn't want to get packed, going on a road trip with mom and dad is more fun.
Here I am keeping an eye on everything!
