Snippets of Summer

Here are some random pictures of our summer... After the beach we went to my parents for a few days so some of the pictures are in Maryland. I have to say I was really dreading this summer but its gone surprisingly well. Hard to believe Chase starts school in a couple weeks!

We decided to plant a zucchini plant and cucumber plant to see what happens. We were so excited to pick the first one!

The fourth of July festivities on base were cancelled due to weather so we had our own parade in our neighborhood.

Had to have a picnic afterwards too!

Bethany Beach

This update is long overdue so I just grabbed a few pictures off my camera and phone. I don't even have pictures of everyone who was there but I just need to move on :) We had a great time at the beach with my family. The weather was great! We spent most mornings at the beach, went back to the house for the afternoon and then went to a park in the evenings. There were definitely early mornings with the boys waking up with the sun but the memories outweigh the hard times of vacationing with kids!

Lunch got earlier and earlier every day. By the last day we walked out on the beach and they started asking for food.

I checked out the activities on the beach to see if there were fireworks. There was not but there was a bonfire one night we checked out.

This was actually on a day trip to a beach outside Wilmington. He was so happy that we finally left him in the water. I am so glad we went to the beach when he did. Micah is on the move and there is no way we could have kept him out of the sand and water all week if we went now. I told Brad that we are done with the beach until Micah can walk!

Family Pictures

We went to the beach last week with my family. Brad didn't have any leave so he drove up with me, stayed for a day then took the train back. So we knew we had to get pictures on Sunday. We knew it would be a lot of work but I think it was worth it. We took the family pictures with Melissa's tripod with a self timer. Not bad!!

Backyard Birthday Bash

Jacob and Gavin will probably always share a birthday party! I decided to keep it simple this year and have some friends over to play in the backyard. I tried to limit it to people that Jacob and Gavin actually saw several times a week. Brad flew back to Kansas for his Grandma's funeral and missed most of it but there was no other time so the party went on!

The boys got a bouncy house from their Grandparents on both sides and Uncle Scott and Aunt Brandi. It was a hit! Brad also made a water blog that I saw on pinterest that the kids liked. 

I was going to have Brad grill but since he was gone I ended up ordering a nugget tray from Chick Fil-a.
