First Food

Micah will be 6 months this week and I have been dreading starting solids. Mealtimes are crazy enough without adding this! But he did really well. Made some funny faces but kept opening his mouth for more.

It's been fun having him join us at the table! 

Valentine's Day Treasure Hunt

In keeping with our tradition we did a treasure hunt for the boys on Valentines Day. We gave Chase a combination of picture clues and words to read. They were very excited.

The first prize was some nerf type guns for each boy.

And a new book from Grandma and Grandpa. We are excited to go through it as a family to learn more about Jesus.

I didn't have my act together to make our Valentine Pizza's this year. Hopefully next year! 

Snow Day Update

We are on our 7th snow day this year! That's a lot for North Carolina. Thank goodness the base is on snow day #3 so I have had some help! Here's an update with our random winter happenings...

Chase is playing basketball this year...he looks so cute in his uniform. I love LOVE Upward sports! He is very non aggressive but is starting to get the hang of the sport. 

Chase went to a roller skating birthday party for a classmate. Roller skates and Kindergarteners don't mix. Thank goodness they allowed scooters. Here he is with his good buddy Audrey.

On our snow day last night we had some neighborhood friends over. Total there were 8 boys five and under! It's fun getting to know your neighbors during times like this. On Sunday night it was fairly warm and we knew the snow was coming. It seemed like everyone was outside. It was fun seeing all the kids playing. Gave me a taste of spring!

Brad was home early on Tuesday to take the boys outside.

I don't think I've posted about this but we had to say goodbye to good friend again a few weeks ago. We had these boys do everything together and are really going to miss them!

Snow

We had 3 inches of snow last Wednesday and it shut down the town! Chase had 4 days off school. They got off Tuesday because they predicted it to start pretty early in the day. Nope. It started around 7pm that night. AH! I was hoping Friday would be a two hour delay but they just decided to scrap the whole week I guess. At least Brad had a snow day and several short days!

We had friends over on Tuesday and we actually got to play 3 rounds of cards. That's pretty impressive with 7 kids 5 and under! The 2 babies were sleeping. The 4 older ones were watching a movie and Gavin just kinda wondered around. There were lots of interruptions but it was still fun! We had other neighbors over on Thursday and played cards again after the kids went to bed!

We used the boogie board to sled down the front yard hill. It worked pretty well. Brad also took the two older ones to an overpass and went sledding there too.
