The Dump

Mom and dad got some new toys the other week and enjoyed riding them around. They finally decided to go out to the "dump" to do some mountain biking. Mom was a little hesitant at first, there could be snakes and some of the hills were pretty steep. As she got more comfortable with the bike she was a little more daring. It really was an old dump with tons of hills and paths that people have paved with bikes and ATV's.

The was one little that was a little too steep! We enjoyed the view from the top though! As we were riding mom kept on getting reminded by dad that she will likely ride where she is looking. So if she sees a snake or big hole not to look at but focus on the level path. How true is that for our lives as well! If we focus on the holes and snakes (temptations and circumstances) it is a lot easier to get distracted by them. If we focus on God (the right path) we will be less likely to fall. We have to remind ourselves not to get distracted by our circumstances (ie. our upcoming assignment) but to look to our Savior! I had my friend Georgia over this weekend and we enjoyed watching football on Sunday especially the Cowboys vs. Texas as we are both Texas natives! I got in a little bit of trouble yesterday when my neighbor ratted me out for eating chocolate. My mom set out some fall colored Peanut Butter cups on a pumpkin plate and I ate the entire plate when they left for dinner. We were over at our neighbors later that night and they found my droppings which had tons of foil in it. So they called to confirm that I had indeed ate the chocolate. But I didn't get in too much trouble because all the dog books say I wouldn't know what I was getting punished for after the fact!

Fall

It is finally starting to cool off down here so it feels more like fall. Our camera is still missing (which I assume means gone for good) but mom's work says we can borrow the camera when we want to so that is nice - we won't be in a rush to buy a new one. We bought a pumpkin over the weekend and dad enjoyed carving it on his day off for Columbus Day. It was a powercat until the rain came yesterday and now it is just a weird hole. I am not sure what to think of it. It kinda smells like food.....

Mom tried her hand at flowers this past weekend. We can flowers free on base (thanks taxpayers!) so we figured she had nothing to lose. Any and all planting tips are appreciated!

Finally, if you have time you have to check out this link. (Quick before dad makes me take it off)

Then click on photo gallary in the middle of the page and look at the first picture. Dad is plane #4 in the flyby. Pretty cool huh! They all got introduced during the game and everyone started chanting U-S-A! Dad is so grateful to be "living the dream!"

Mom hard at work!

Thought these pictures would give everyone a good laugh! Mom has an old school superintendent on the job who doesn't like "paper shufflers" like mom's job. So he takes great pride when he gets her outside working. So here we are pouring 2 sections of a concrete sidewalk.

KSU vs. Baylor

Mom and dad went to the game, K-state lost and they left. That is all we will say about the pathetic game. Mom lost her camera which is very upsetting. Mom said she checked to make sure she had it in her purse before heading out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. She didn't use it there but when they got to the game she was going to give it to dad to keep in his pocket and it wasn't there. We have called the restuarant a couple times but it has not turned up. We will keep praying and hope it will turn up. Times like these are frusterating but it is important to remember that it is only a material possesion and not the end of the world!

Weekend Recap

Since dad has been gone the last couple weekends it was nice to have everyone home and hang out. Saturday we had some people over to watch the K-state vs. Louisville game. We had a good time with everyone even though K-state lost. My friend Morgan was the life of the party, she sang the Fight Song and does the K-S-U Wildcats.

We had our new neighbor, Delilah, over for the weekend. Mom and dad forgot how hard it was having a puppy around. Even though they are so cute, it is a lot of work when they are not potty trained. Delilah did very well though and we had fun playing all weekend.

Sunday was mom's 26th birthday. Dad did a great job making the day special with breakfast in bed and gifts creatively hid in the house for her to find at different times. He even made a yummy cake for everyone to eat at their couples bible study. I was hoping to get a piece but all I got were some crumbs. Mom also had a softball game on Sunday and they won! It was the last game of the fall season. I guess now they want to start a winter season so the playing never stops!

AWANA Girls

Miranda, Kathryn, Taylor, Courtney
Mom is an AWANA leader at their church for T&T girls (3rd - 6th grade). Every Wednesday she goes to church and listens to their verses, plays games, and encourages the girls. She had really enjoyed getting to know them and develop relationships with them. AWANA stands for Approved Workers are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. They also have a sleepover every year in the spring that the girls are already talking about. It is a contest to see how late they can stay up.
Miranda's coming to AWANA last year is a cool story. She would go over to Courtney's house after school and one day her mom couldn't pick her up in time so she had to come AWANA. Her mom came to pick her up in the middle of it but she wanted to stay until the end. Miranda enjoyed it so much that she has come back ever since and this year she even goes to a different school but is still coming. I think AWANA is the only place she has heard the gospel and it is so encouraging to see her memorizing the word and praying! There are about 25 girls in the program. Mom is leader of the red team which averages 4-6 girls.

Change of Plans

Tonight was supposed to be a night of friendly rivalry between dad's Cowboys and mom's Redskins. The game is on but dad got stuck out on his trip so it is just mom and me. It's not looking good for the 'skins but she is still working on corrupting me.

Memory Lane

Here's me the day mom and dad picked me out. No recent pictures to post as nothing new has been going on lately. Dad was gone on a "business trip" last weekend and he will be gone this weekend as well so it is just me and mom hanging out. One of my legs was really hurting last weekend and mom didn't want me moving around a lot so we watched a lot of football. I have a feeling it will be the same this weekend. K-State is on TV so that will fun to watch!

Three Games and a Wedding

Mom and dad had a wonderful weekend in Kansas. They arrived Friday afternoon and stayed until Monday afternoon. Friday night they watched the Royals beat the White Sox. Saturday they headed up to Manhattan to watch the K-State Volleyball game and their favorite player Tiffany Johnson. We found out that today that Tiffany was named to the Varney’s Kansas State Invitational All-Tournament team! Saturday night they went to the K-State vs. Illinois State football game. The game was way too close but we will take a win and hope for improvement as the season goes on. Most people know I was named after the K-State Football field. Well just because they changed the name of the stadium doesn't mean my parents have to change my name. I believe it is still Wagner Field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
And the reason they went up to KC, the wedding of dad's friend Jamie from college. The wedding was at a beautiful glass and wood chapel in Powell Gardens. The bride was beautiful, the reception was fun and it was a joy to celebrate with them!

The chapel is located back by the tree line and overlooks the lake and gardens.

Dad and mom enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of dad's friend (and his wife) from college. The also got to meet their adorable 5 month old daughter! They enjoyed spending time with them - just wished it was longer!

Work

Work has been keeping mom and dad very busy lately. Dad has been working on a big project for a while and has the presentation today. I am excited to hear how it went. Mom's project is nearing the end so it's very hectic trying to get everything done. Her company should find out soon if they got the project down the street. Here are a few pictures from the building.

Weekend Home

As much fun as it is to take trips and see new things it is also nice to be home and get stuff done around the house and relax. With work being very busy for mom and dad it was good for them to get some rest. Mom even took the luxury to get a hair cut (and styled for a formal dinner) and a pedicure. She really enjoyed that! Dad got to draft his fanasty football team. He picked Deion Branch as one of his receivers - can you believe he didn't know that he is a holdout! They always talk about it on Sportscenter which is on all the time at our house! Oh well, maybe it will work out.

The spare bed is the only piece of furniture I am allowed on and I enjoy the times I get to take naps up there! Sometimes mom and dad even join me.
Here's mom up at bat at her softball game this afternoon. Her team didn't win but she recruited some friends to play with her so it was a lot more fun.

Good-bye

Last night we had to bid farewell to Sammi and family. We will miss their family a lot. Sammi's mom packed up the house last week and then they all stayed with us until Sammi's dad got back last night and then they headed off this morning. We are excited that they moving on to bigger and better things. Here is my view of the movers and packers last week.
It is hard getting Polly to sit still for a picture.

I will miss my tug-of-war friend. It was our favorite game.

Weekend Trip

Mom and Dad went this weekend to meet up with one of mom's friend from college. They had a great time catching up and enjoyed cave exploring at Carlsbad Caverns. It is hard when you live far away from everyone but good friends make the effort to keep in touch and meet up.

The entrance of the caverns.

It is hard to capture the beauty of caverns in a pictures. As the tour guides talked about the evolution of the caverns we just marveled at God's creation!

Lake

There is a large lake near out house and we got our share of sun today! Mom and dad went out on the boat with some friends and their kids. They went wake boarding, cliff jumping and went to the natural springs. The lake is in a canyon and some parts have huge rock walls on the side. It is really pretty.

Ready to go swimming!
Dad getting some air!

Later in the evening, they took me out to the lake to go to mom's softball team party. I got a lot of attention and food there!
He was tired after a day on the lake!So was I! I can barely keep my eyes open! Off to bed, goodnight!

Baby Shower

I got kicked out of the house for a while yesterday while mom threw a baby shower for Sammi's mom. The house was filled with ladies and they got so many generous gifts. Mom loves organizing events and had so much fun making the day special for her friend.

Rain!

It rained last night! There was a decent size storm that went through for a short while. The power was out for about 45 minutes. This morning Sammi and I went on a walk and I loved playing in all the rain puddles. I had to get a bath when I got home but it was worth it!

Wedding
