Last Day of School

Chase is at his last day of preschool now. Had to get a picture like we did on the first day of school.

A star is born!!

Ok, maybe not but Chase actually sung the songs at the end of the year preschool program! Compared to the Christmas Program where he sat and picked his nose for about 10 minutes we were very impressed! Chase has really enjoyed his class this year and we are happy with the program. He will be going to Kindergarten there next year as it is only a half day K. I didn't feel like he was ready for a full day.

Week at the Beach

These are pictures from my camera and two iphones so I am not even going to bother putting them in order. We had a house right on the beach and for being mid May we had decent weather. Two days were pretty cold. I always forget how much work it is with kids. Sunscreen, baths, eating sand, etc. But they all loved it and I love seeing their smiles!
Gavin's first time on the beach - by the end of the week we couldn't keep him out of the water!
Jacob was so fun this year!

Brad brought up a big shovel and made some pretty awesome forts. Was a hit!

Can't get Chase to smile - even at the beach.

Chase was the first one out at the beach and the last one to come in. To say he loved it is an understatement.  Him and Addison were inseparable on the beach.

Brayden got pretty good on the skim board.

Gavin gave me a workout wanting to play in the waves.
The kids on the iphones/ipods. Gotta love technology.
The view from our deck. When Gavin was sleeping and I was reading on the deck I could see our group playing. I loved being so close!

Finally a decent picture!

Me and my four boys :)

On one of our walks someone fell in the water!

We went to the aquarium on one of the colder days.

Watching the fish and sharks.

None of the little kids wanted to touch the bamboo shark.

Goldfish seems like an appropriate snack at an aquarium.

On a walk with my love!

Last Soccer Game

I like going in chronological order here so before we headed to the beach, Chase had his last soccer game. We have seen so much improvement in him over the past 2 games. He is still really slow and doesn't seem aggressive but he understands the game more. We were so proud of him when he scored a goal toward the end of the game!

Our watching crew. We had fun making fun of the kids and chasing the babies :)

Chase's biggest fans!

Giving dad a high five after the game!

Beach

We just got back from a wonderful few days at the beach with Brad's brother and his family. I feel like I have a lot to update but with 2 sick kids and a disaster of a house I'm not in the mood now. Hopefully soon!

Another Field Trip

Chase's school had another field trip, this time to the Kinston Nature Center. We've been there several times but it has always been hot. It was nice to go and enjoy a cooler day. Brad was again night flying so we made it a family affair. Most of the pictures I have are of Jacob. Gavin was asleep on Brad so I was stuck with Jacob most of the time. Here he is playing in the planetarium while the big kids were watching a movie on planets.

Jacob and Canaan enjoyed watching the ball float!

We all got to go on a train ride. Here's a picture with our good friends, the Watsons. We went to Chick Fil-a  afterwards and one of the workers said, "that's a lot of boys." Yes it is!

So fun that the daddies could be there!

Baking

It was an afternoon I was dreading. Brad was night flying so I was on my own for dinner and bed. It seems like no matter how the day is going the time from after naps to bed is hard. Chase annoys Jacob and Jacob just screams, Jacob loves on Gavin a little to hard and he cries, Chase yells that he doesn't like Gavin crying and on and on it goes. Anyways, I knew I needed a plan on this particular afternoon so I decided to do some baking with the boys. We decided to make dog treats (so I don't have to worry if their hands are dirty or they sneeze on the food!). Chase did it a little bit while Jacob was still napping and Jacob got to help when he got up. He loved doing it!

Yes that is a candy cane. I couldn't find all my cookie cutters.

It kept him busy for almost half hour! Then he was content to play with toys for awhile. I know there were other factors (everyone took a good nap) but the afternoon/evening seemed to go better. I have noticed this before - if I spend time with them to do an activity then play by themselves afterwards. Any other moms notice this? If only I could come up with some fun every night Brad flies!
