Picnic!

It has actually been nice here lately and not unbearably hot so we took advantage today to go on a picnic. We grabbed fast food and headed out to a park. Here I am being a good guard dog of the food!
We were just going to go for a walk along the creek but I jumped in so mom and dad let me swim! There were several places that had steps leading into the creek so it was easy to get in and out.

Checking out the fish with mom.
We stopped to take some pictures. There is a great family picture but dad didn't want me posting, sorry.
At first we thought this man was washing his clothes but then he soaped up and jumped in, I guess he was taking his bath. Kinda sad.

Dad always makes me ride in the back of the truck after swimming so I can airdry.

Goodbye's

It is hard getting left behind as we have done quite often. Thursday night we said goodbye to two very close family friends. We went out to Chili's for one last time (once you leave here - you never eat at Chili's again as it is one of only 2 chain non-fast food restaurants!). We have many fun memories over the past couple years and hope our paths cross again soon!

Dad

Not much has been going on here lately. Dad started his new training last week and should get to fly for the first time tomorrow. He is excited to get back in the plane. For fathers day, mom and I made him a card and his favorite chocolate chip muffins (I really just helped cleaning up by licking the bowl!) and gave it to him Sunday morning.

We had some friends over to grill and watch the race and the rest of the day we just laid around. Here is me and dad napping. A nice relaxing day!

At the Lake!

It has been getting hot here lately so mom and dad take me swimming! Last week, they gave me a doggie lifevest to wear. Some of dads friends were making fun of it but I guess dad doesn't like me trying to climb on his back when I swim around. I still take some convincing to jump in the water as you can see in the video in the next post.

Babies and Birthday Parties!

There have been so many new babies around here lately. Here is mom with a couple of the new kiddos - she loves to hold them all. It is so much fun to celebrate with friends! Still waiting to meet Tiana!
Last Saturday, mom and dad celebrated Morgan's 3rd birthday party. It was a princess theme.
Our gift to her - Polly Pocket.

Here's a picture of the guys "supervising" the bouncy castle. It looks more like playing washers to me!
Cool washers set though!!

Nephews and a neice!

Mom and dad always enjoy seeing nephews and wer so excited to meet their neice for the first time! Didn't get too many good pictures with her - she is such a cutie!

Enjoyed playing baseball with the boys. They also went golfing, played darts, puzzles, wrestling and bike riding. They are active boys! The girls did manage to sneak away for a little shopping and the big guys went to see Pirates.

Long Trip to Kansas

Things changed last minute with Dad's work (he is starting training a month early) so he couldn't go cross country so we took off to Kansas for Memorial Day weekend. About 1 hour from our stop for the night the check engine light comes on. We hav 24 hour roadside assistance so we called and they said they would tow us to the nearest Audi dealership to have it fixed. We waiting at a gas station parking lot for 4 1/2 hours. Dad is practicing his golf in the parking lot here.
The tow truck finally comes around 3:30am. The nearest dealership is 3 hours away. It was a long drive. The driver had the radio station blaring so dad tried to make small talk the whole way so we didn't have to listen to the radio.

We arrive at the dealership around 6:30am (hoping it opens at 8:00am). We didn't really know what to do so we called a cab and asked for them to take us to get breakfast. Denny's was just over the hill so we paid $10 for a 6 block cab ride.
At breakfast, the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with us and we were pretty tired.
We walked back to the dealership after breakfast, in the rain, and still had time to kill. We were checking out our future car (yeah right!) They got the car fixed pretty quick and we were on the road by 9:30am. We checked into a motel for about 5 hours of sleep before we finished driving the rest of the way. Definitely a long day, I actually had to stay back for the trip and mom and dad were grateful they didn't have to deal with me!
