Third Kid

I've been having trouble loading these videos all day. I wanted to show why the poor third kid hardly gets documents. Gavin is crawling pretty well now. I wanted that perfect video to show him doing it but had to settle for these. I even took several more before I gave up.

Chase kept talking to me on the first one and Wagner blocked me on the second one. Oh well - hopefully you get the idea!

Monkey Joes

Last Saturday we took advantage of a Living Social deal and went to Raleigh to a jumpy castle place. The boys had a lot of fun. We have such a short window of boys in good moods between naps so we barely lasted 2 hours. But I will take it!

I sat Gavin on my lap and bounced around. He loved it!

Chase going down a slide.

Terrible pictures I know - Jacob loved going down the slide with daddy. I wish I could have captured his face!

Pink Flag

A couple weekends ago, I went away with some girls from the squadron for a night. When the guys go to training before deployments its called Red Flag or Green Flag - hence the name Pink Flag.

There were 19 of us that went! Pretty impressive number for our squadron! We stayed in downtown Raleigh. We went shopping, out to dinner and then breakfast the next morning.

After dinner we went to a piano bar. It was fun to sing along for a few but as soon as it hit 10:00pm and I didn't feel like a loser for leaving I hightailed out of there for bed!

Roomies for the night.

View of downtown from our room.

Valentine's Day

For Valentine Day's with the boys we did a little treasure hunt for them to find their few gifts. We just did picture clues with Chase and not sure if he would catch on. We figured Jacob would just want to tag along.

We tried to explain to Chase what he was going to do...

The first clue..

It was a picture of the dresser/tv in our room.

He caught on very quickly.

Found the clue by Wagner's dish.

Jacob running behind.

He found the presents hidden in the tunnel.

Bubbles!

It was a huge hit - Chase kept asking all day for another treasure hunt. We definitely need to make it harder next year!

For dinner this is the second year we've made heart shaped pizza's. It was hard to help the boys and take pictures but I had to document!

Poor Gavin didn't have as good of a Valentine Day...he went to the doctor in the morning and they said he had an ear infection in his right ear. Hopefully he is on the mend. He's been so congested its hard for him to sleep or eat.

Brad and I were able to go out to lunch on Wednesday (with just Gavin) so we claimed that as our Valentine Date. We were hoping to switch off date nights with another couple this weekend but we both have kids with runny noses and coughs so we will see if that happens.

January

Here is a random list of stuff we've been up to since I have been a terrible blogger.

The flu bug hit our house. Chase woke us up one night saying he spit up. Upon inspection of his room he sure did and continued during the night. He didn't leave our bed the next day. Brad and I both got a milder case the next day. Brad even stayed home from work the next day. It didn't last too long but even if you are feeling better you are exhausted for a couple days! We did nothing that next weekend!

Puzzles!

We went out to lunch then bowling with friends. The boys enjoyed it. And the green dinosaur was taken so they had to use the pink.

Keeping a 1 1/2 year old busy during bowling is a chore!

Bowling Buddies

Our church volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and our family was in charge of a game so we played bingo. I even got lucky and found a cheap bingo cage at Ross for $7. Chase loved rolling it and having a ball come out then matching the number on the paper. It kept him busy for hours! Brad almost lost his voice yelling the numbers at the club. There were probably 40-50 preteens.

Someone is getting on all fours and rocking! He might be mobile soon!

Jacob got his first haircut at a barber shop. He did really well and now Brad can stop calling him a hippie!

We had an ice storm the other week and the city practically shut down! Things were getting cancelled early that day while it was still nice out.

I didn't get any pictures but we had a neighborhood progressive dinner the other night. It was mainly people on another street so we didn't have any courses at our house but it was fun to hang out with friends and get to know a few people.

I am co-captain of our Relay for Life team and went to the Banquet this past week. It was weird standing up when they asked all the survivors to stand. Sometimes it all just seems like a distant memory.

I play crud last night at the Rainbow Crud Tournament. After being cooped up in the house with the cold weather and sickness it was nice to get out with the girls.

Chase is signed up for spring soccer at a church about a block away. Hopefully its less parent involvement and we will start seeing a competitive side to him.

I'm sure many people outside the Air Force are not aware that an F-16 went down from Aviano Air Base in Italy. It took 3ish days to find the body of the pilot in the Adriatic Sea. It is really a small fighter community and my heart was breaking for this family. The wife is about to give birth to their first child in a few weeks. This happened during a normal training mission. This hit really close to home as I take for granted that Brad will be home every night when there is really no guarantee that will happen. I'm hugging my family a little longer lately.

Hopefully I will be better about blogging this month!
